The campaign to renovate the auditorium in what is being majestically called The Castle on Ninth Street was kicked off a few days ago.

This historic former Hazleton High School building (erected in 1928) is now the Hazleton Elementary/Middle School. It was reopened about a year ago after undergoing a $24 million facelift, but the Hazleton Area School District ran out of money, leaving the auditorium bare.
